BATON ROUGE, LA (WGMB) - December 12, 2010 - Cat Haven is trying to find unwanted kitties homes before the holidays.

Cat Haven is a non profit organization that rescues and places cats in loving homes. There is an overwhelming amount of stray animals. And while many are put down because they can't find owners, this organization is looking for a "no kill" alternative.

That's what today's open house was all about. There were different types of cats looking for a home. And folks could go from cat to cat to find which one was their favorite.

Wendy Decker is the treasurer at cat haven. She says that all the cats they bring in are spayed, neutered, and are kept up to date on their shots. So there's no reason why they can't find a home.
