East Baton Rouge Sheriffs interact with neighbors

BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) -Saturday, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office teamed up with St. George firefighters for a fun day in the park.

It was a normal Saturday afternoon at Baringer road park.

But normally you don't see this everyday, space walks, a dee jay, and field games with police officers and firefighters.

It's all part of a big push to let people in the community know that sheriff's deputies need their help to keep it crime free.

"It brings neighborhoods together, they get to know their neighbors and they look out for one another, and when something's wrong, they let the neighbors know, they call us, and everything works out right " - said Captain Steve Young of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office
