Homes underwater in Iberville

Parish residents bracing for more floodwaters

Iberville Parish is under a state of emergency after rain flooded much of the area over the last several weeks.

The Coast Guard shut down all boat traffic until the flood waters start to go down.

The water is up to 7 1/2 feet at Bayou Sorrel.

Some residents are literally trapped in their own homes.

Many are forced to wade through more than a foot of water to get to their front doors.
