Louisiana shrimpers protesting prices
Fishermen say low prices are putting them out of business
Hundreds of Louisiana shrimpers stormed onto the steps of the State Capitol on Tuesday to protest sinking shrimp prices.
For years shrimpers across the state have complained about low per pound prices due to an influx of imported goods.
They say a tariff had been in place to protect the local shrimp supply but it was lifted by the government last year.
Shrimpers say although it's the peak of shrimp season, prices have hit rockbottom.
They rallied to urge someone to answer questions as to why prices continue to drop.
