BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) - A Lieutenant Governor debate at the Press Club of Baton Rouge this afternoon sees Billy Nunguesser absent again.

The Press Club scheduled the debate weeks ago, only to have the Plaquemines President cancel on short notice.

Dardenne spoke candidly about how much positive work he's done across the state, leaving everyone to only speculate on what the Nunguesser camp would say.

People at the press club tell NBC 33 these constant cancellations aren't helping his chances.

"I hope people will say, why aren't you willing to stand up and talk about the issues, and let people see both of you, and decide who's the best person for Lieutenant Governor." - Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne, said.

"It's very interesting because it seems like it was a last minute deal, that Mr. Nunguesser basically backed out." - Chad Cooper a former LSU Graduate, said.
