Police Team Up With Local Residents to Give Away Car Seats

State Police teamed up with local residents to keep infants safe while riding in cars.

Saturday at the East Baton Rouge Health Unit, it was National Seatcheck Saturday, and local Police and volunteers were giving away free car seats, so that kids will be safer when riding in a car.

Recently in over 5 parishes, there have been incidents of small children being injured or killed because of improper car restraints.

Lexlee Overton was the coordinator for this safety event, and said its important to give away as many car seat as possible.
