St. Helena Schools health/safety reports released
Inspection shows parts of schools are not up to code
The Office of the State Fire Marshall has released the results of a mandatory health and safety inspection of the Saint Helena Parish Schools. According to the reports, parts of both St. Helena Central High School and St. Helena Elementary School were not up to code.
The reports show that most of the high school campus is under Fire Watch because it doesn't have a functional alarm system. The inspector cited problems with exits being blocked off by furniture, exposed electrical wiring, and poor use of storage space. Similar problems were found at the elementary school.
