Volunteer firefighters in the town of Slaughter braved freezing temperatures to save “Clue,” a 1200 pound horse after he fell into a local creek.
Clue’s owner says the horse has bad eyes and may have accidentally fallen in.
It’s believed Clue was stuck in the creek for hours before a 9-1-1 call sent the Slaughter Volunteer Fire department jumping in after him.
Firefighters say it was a rescue unlike any other.
"You hear about firefighters getting cats out of trees or dogs from under porches but you never hear about us getting a horse out of a creek” says Colby Marks.
Clue's owner says the horse is doing just fine.
