Baton Rouge Police Chief Injured in Morotcycle Crash
Chief Jeff LeDuff Sustained Moderate Injuries
Saturday afternoon, State Police investigated a motorcycle crash involving BRPD Chief Jeff LeDuff. The crash happened around 1:45 near the intersection of I-10 and Siegen Lane. Chief LeDuff suffered moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital by EBR EMS.
State police say LeDuff was operating his departmental motorcycle when he exited Interstate 10 at Siegen Lane. Traffic in front of LeDuff came to an abrupt stop. Troopers say Chief LeDuff applied his brakes - and was thrown off the motorcycle. The BRPD motorcycle slid on the pavement and crashed into a Lincoln, and the driver of that car wasn't injured.
Troopers say LeDuff was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
