Fishermen are getting help from the private sector. One organization wants to help people in this industry stay afloat, until BP can pay up. The Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation has mobilized its 'People First Emergency Grant Program'. They're giving fishermen and their families’ grants $2500 - $25,000. This money is meant to help these people pay bills and provide for their basic needs. LDRF organizers say, so far, they've handed out close to $125,000.
