Former LSU WR Byrd Hurt in Car Wreck
Less than a week before the NFL draft, former LSU receiver Demetrius Byrd was hurt in a car crash. Good news is that the injuries are not life threatening and he’s expected to make a full recovery.
But how it affects where Byrd is selected remains to be seen.
The accident happened Sunday in Miami. His car was totaled.
Byrd's agent released a statement confirming the accident. The former Tiger is in critical but stable condition — and has reportedly been receiving hourly CAT scans.
Last season, Byrd had 37 catches for 513 yards and four touchdowns. He also played a key role in the Tigers' 2007 BCS national championship.
Byrd is considered one of the top 15 receivers in this year’s draft class.
