Holden Girl Killed in Car Crash
LIVINGSTON, La. (AP) - State police say a 13-year-old Holden girl died after the car in which she was a passenger struck a tree.
Troopers say Alyica Owens was pronounced dead at North Oaks Hospital Monday after being extricated from the vehicle by firefighters.
Investigators say the wreck occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. when the 1999 Volkswagen Beatle traveling south on La. Highway 441 spun out of control in a curve and struck a tree.
Troopers say the driver, 17-year-old Chelsey Lemaire of Independence, suffered minor injuries.
