Hurst Middle school students "Wetland Watchers"

The crisis on the coast is heavy on the minds of students at Harry M. Hurst Middle School in Destrehan. A huge portion of their curriculum centers around protecting Louisiana's wetlands. Our Emily Turner took a tour of their outdoor classroom on the bank of Lake Ponchartrain. But the students weren't planting trees or taking water samples like they normally do—they were inside the classroom using the oil spill as another learning tool.
