BATON ROUGE – LSU’s Women in Business program, housed in the E. J. Ourso College of Business’ Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute, will host a workshop titled “Doing Business in the Entertainment Industry.”
The event will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, from 8 a.m.-2:05 p.m. in the Ione Burden Conference Center located on the grounds of the Rural Life Museum. The Rural Life Museum is located at 4650 Essen Lane.
The workshop will feature Sonny Cranch of Cranch, Hardy and Associates as the keynote speaker. Additional speakers are Elliot Adams, the digital media industry director for Louisiana Economic development; Alicia Allain, a production consultant for Louisiana Film Resources; Phyllis Sims, an attorney for Kean Miller; and Jason Hewitt, a producer for Films in Motion.
Attendees will gain knowledge of:
·The entertainment industry and its growing impact on Louisiana’s economy.
·How to start a business specifically targeted to work with this industry.
·How to look for contracting opportunities.
·Insight on contracting with big corporations in the entertainment industry.
·Networking opportunities with local productions.
