Man Pleads Guilty to Possessing Stolen Guns
LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - The father of a juvenile who stole weapons from a gun show at the Lake Charles Civic Center earlier this year has pleaded guilty to having several of the weapons in his possession.
Forty-five-year-old Christopher Bartie Sr. will be sentenced Nov. 12 by Judge Robert Wyatt. Bartie pleaded guilty Tuesday to 11 counts of possession of stolen firearms. Each count carries one to five years in prison.
A charge of possession of stolen goods valued in excess of $500 was dismissed by prosecutor John Coffman.
Bartie's son pleaded guilty in juvenile court to stealing the guns Jan. 17-18. The stolen items included assault rifles and a laptop computer.
