SOURCE: Former LA First Lady Victim of Domestic Violence
Candy Edwards' Former Lover is in Jail
(WGMB) BATON ROUGE - Sources confirm to Fox News Baton Rouge that former Louisiana First Lady Candy Edwards is the victim of domestic violence. The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested 34-year-old Brian Low for allegedly beating up Candy Edwards who is 45.
Candy Edwards was married to former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards who is now serving a ten year federal prison sentence.
Low is the father of Candy Edwards' three-year-old son. According to a Probable Cause Form Obtained by Fox News Baton Rouge, detectives say she went to pick up her son from Low's mother's house. That's when, detectives say, he attacked her.
The report says Low allegedly grabbed her by the neck and threw her across the room - forcing her to hit her head on a wall. Sources tell Fox News Baton Rouge a friend brought Edwards to a local hospital for treatment.
Edwards told detectives that Low also punched her in the face - a claim he denies in the report. Low and Edwards had been living together - but separated a few months ago.
Low is booked in the East Baton Rouge parish jail on a 200-thousand dollar bond.
