String of Burglaries in Central
East Baton Rouge deputies are keeping a close eye on Central neighborhoods after a string of burglaries yesterday morning. Our Emily Turner spoke with authorities this afternoon.
An eye witness told authorities they saw a man in a silver four-door vehicles near one of the homes about the time it was broken into, but there may be more people involved. The suspect or suspects allegedly entered all three of the uninhabited residences by kicking in doors. Two of the homes had alarms and owners told authorities nothing appeared to be disturbed or missing. However, one of the homes did not have an alarm and it was ransacked and a Nintendo Wii was stolen.
Neighbors we spoke with are concerned and taking extra precaution when it comes to securing their homes. Gaynell Whiting says, “From now on when we leave our house our doors will be locked.” City officials say another home was broken into this morning in the Northwood subdivision but they say it was not related to the other three.
If you have any information on any of the burglaries please call the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Department or Crimestoppers.
