UL: Serving Beer at Football Games
LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A company has secured the permits to begin
beer sales at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette's home football
opener Saturday against Kansas State.
Louisiana-Lafayette will be the first public university in the
state to sell beer at its football games. Sales were to begin last
Saturday in a game against Southern University, but state liquor
control officials questioned whether Sodexo Sports & Leisure, has
the proper permits.
Under a contract, the university will receive 45 percent of the
proceeds from selling beer.
There will be a two-beer limit for each purchase and no sales
will be allowed after the fourth quarter. Officials said each
concession area will offer information about taxi services.
