Let the Madness Begin: LSU Faces Butler Thursday

Thursday, March 19, 2009 - 2:02am

After not having a single open practice in Baton Rouge this season, Trent Johnson was finally forced by the NCAA to hold a work out in front of a crowd Wednesday. They went through preparations on the Greensboro Coliseum floor, before moving to a private location to continue getting ready for Butler.

Thursday, the entire country gets a look at the Tigers. They've got the earliest tip time (11:20 am CDT), so everyone will see at least a few minutes of the LSU-Butler game.

It certainly looks like it has the potential of being a classic match-up. LSU is the SEC champion, ranked 21st in the nation, while Butler won the Horizon League and carries the number 22 spot in the final AP poll.

But, of course, the Tigers aren't exactly on fire. They've lost three of their last four games. The buzz word of the day was “mojo” and whether or not the men in purple and gold can get it back.
