No Four-Peat for Christian Life, Episcopal Falls

Tuesday, March 10, 2009 - 8:53pm

Baton Rouge area teams aren't having any success at the Top 28 boys' basketball tournament in Lafayette. Glen Oaks lost to Bossier Monday, then Christian Life dropped its game to Country Day and Episcopal fell to Springhill Tuesday.

The Crusaders were trying to win their fourth straight state championship in Class 1A, but the Cajuns ended the CLA dynasty with a 58-49 semi-final victory.

In their Class 2A semi-final match-up, the top-seeded Episcopal Knights couldn't overcome hot shooting by the Springhill Lumberjacks. The 66-51 win sent SHS into the championship round.

The sole remaining Baton Rouge area team is Class 3A's Plaquemine High School. The Green Devils face the Richwood Rams at 6:30 Wednesday night.
