Ward 2 Water Will Decide Next Month to Expand to Walker

Thursday, July 23, 2009 - 3:29pm

SOME LIVINGSTON PARISH RESIDENTS WILL HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER MONTH BEFORE THEY'LL FIND OUT IF THEY'LL GET "CITY WATER."
THE WARD 2 WATER BOARD DID NOT REACH AN AGREEMENT LAST NIGHT ON PAYING OUT 12 MILLION DOLLARS TO EXPAND WATER SERVICE INTO WALKER.
THE TWELVE-MILLION-DOLLAR PRICE TAG WOULD PAY FOR WATER TOWERS AND PIPELINES TO HELP DELIVER WATER TO WALKER.
IF THE BOARD VOTES FOR THE PROJECT, WARD 2 WATER CUSTOMERS COULD SEE A DOLLAR THIRTEEN INCREASE ON THEIR BILLS.
THE WATER BOARD PLANS TO VOTE NEXT MONTH, AND WE'LL LET YOU KNOW WHAT THEY DECIDE.
