21-year-old driver dies in single-vehicle crash, impairment suspected
ST. HELENA PARISH, LA (FOX44) — A 21-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash last night in St. Helena Parish.
The Louisiana State Police reports that the incident happened at roughly 8:00 p.m. on LA 38 north of LA 10. We’re told the vehicle being driven by Evan Vides of Ethel went off the road. The crash happened when Vides attempted to pull the vehicle back on the road, which caused his car to spin.
The vehicle crashed into several trees and then overturned. Vides sustained critical injures and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Although Vides was wearing a seatbelt, Troopers suspect alcohol may have played a factor. A sample of his blood has been submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
