Around The World(FOX44)- Arctic Ocean- The Arctic Ocean ice cover has shrunk to its lowest level for mid August since record keeping began.

A satellite from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency of Jaxa measured the ice at 1.8 million square miles and both US and Japanese analysts predicted the ice would contract even more in the coming weeks.

Analysts believe the ice cover is contracting because of rising ocean water temperatures.

Iran- In Iran today Iran's President unveiled an upgraded version of a short range surface to surface ballistic missile just weeks after it was test fired.

At the unveiling ceremony for the conqueror missile, the President told a group of defense officials that he wants to advance Iran's defense technology quote not in an aggressive context, but as a deterrence.

Several other new Iranian made weapons were also unveiled, including a naval diesel engine, a mortar launcher and a tactical SUV.

Spain- Speculation is growing over Spain's need for an international bailout in order to stay afloat.

Spanish banks are sitting on an estimated 250 billion dollars in toxic assets following the collapse of the country's real estate boom.
