
AROUND THE WORLD (FOX44) – Greece, 30-thousand government workers are getting pink slips to keep the country from going bankrupt. The EU and IMF are demanding those layoffs in exchange for 8-billion dollars in additional bailout money. Greece not being able to pay its bills could create a new global financial crisis. The problem with firing civil servants is, their jobs are supposed to be guaranteed for life under Greece’s constitution.
The Philippines – Muslim militants freed a Filipino-American woman after two and a half months but they won't do the same for her 14-year-old son and another relative. The FBI says the kidnappers want a huge ransom.
Taiwan – A cargo ship crashed into rocks near the shore, at least 3-crew members are dead and 8-people are still missing. The rough weather at sea was blamed for the accident. Still 6-sailors were able to swim to safety.
United States – Strong winds are the reason why work was halted at the Washington Monument until today.
Friday, a worker flew 30-feet off the West wall as he searched for damages after an earthquake in August. The worker wasn't hurt.
China – Hundreds of twins, triplets, and quadruplets gathered in Beijing to celebrate themselves. They dressed in matching outfits, danced, and took part in a parade.
Australia – Women in bikinis are taking over the beach and breaking a world record. 357-women marched single file for the largest bikini parade ever and spectators weren't complaining.
