AROUND THE WORLD (FOX44) – Indonesia, a plane vanished from radar while flying over mountains in the west. The plane was a Russian-made Sukhoi Superjet 100. It was supposed to be a 50-minute demonstration flight and was carrying potential buyers, diplomats, and members of the media.

The Philippines – A fire at a clothing store killed at least 17-workers. The place also doubled as a place for those workers to sleep between shifts. An accepted practice, especially when employees live far from work. There is no word yet on what sparked the fire.

India – A shocking ritual continues here. Hindu Priests tossed babies from a temple rooftop. A ritual they believe makes the children stronger. The babies, aged 3-months to 2-years, are caught by a group of men holding a cloth below. Devotees defend the practice saying it is a century’s old ritual and one they believe in.

United States – A new king reigns over Saint Louis Missouri.

A massive chess piece moves into the record books at the largest chess piece in the world. The chess piece 14-and-a-half feet tall, and 6-feet wide at the base. The chess club and scholastic center of Saint Louis built the piece to kick off the 2012 U.S. and women's chess championships.
