AROUND THE WORLD (FOX44) – Italy, a 65-year-old woman was pulled out alive from rubble following Tuesday’s deadly earthquake. She was buried under the wreckage of her apartment for nearly 12-hours. At least 16-people were killed in the magnitude 5.8-quake and the string of strong aftershocks.
Spain – It's not quite “The Jetsons”, but one automaker is offering a glimpse into future with a driver-less car. Volvo tested their cars on these roads. Volvo says the cars will reduce accidents caused by driver's actions and fatigue.
United States – The spelling bee's youngest speller is out before the semifinals after misspelling her word "ingluvies" today. Six year old Lori Anne Madison spelled the word with an “e” instead of an “I”. Just in case you wanted to know, "ingluvies" is the anatomical name for a bird's crop.
Ethiopia – People are laughing away their woes at a Laughter Academy.
The unofficial laughter world record holder runs the school. The teacher has overcome a few hurdles himself; he once struggled with addiction and lost his wife to HIV.
