AROUND THE WORLD (FOX44) – Nigeria, an oil rig off the coast is still on fire. Two workers are presumed dead and now officials fear an environmental disaster. Chevron officials say to fight this fire they need to drill a relief well. It’s been burning for 5-days now. No official word on what caused it. Oil is leaking and environmental groups are demanding that someone cleans it up.

China – Firefighters rescued a disabled elderly woman after a building goes up in flames.

We're told the fire started in a trash can and spread quickly. The 70-year-old woman was the only person left in the building. A brave firefighter saved her.

Australia – Dozens of inmates rioted at a prison in the south. Reports say they armed themselves with gym and garden equipment and got onto the roof. The guards were forced to use tear gas and water cannons. The prisoners said to have been angry over the possibility of losing their rights to watch TV.

Japan – Japanese whalers clashed with protesters off the coast of Antarctica. We can't verify what's on the amateur video that was released but somebody is jamming a pole at the crew in the smaller boat. The anti-whaling activists claim 3-people got hurt, including an American. The whalers say the protesters tried to tangle their vessel's propellers.

And back to China – Chinese doctors successfully removed a rubber volleyball from a dolphin's stomach today.

The poor animal swallowed it. It took a 2-hour operation but the dolphin is ok and doing well tonight.
