AROUND THE WORLD (FOX44) – Nigeria, oil giant Chevron says the fire from an un-topped gas leak does not pose a threat to people living nearby, even though it’s been burning for weeks. Right now locals are complaining about rashes, and difficulty breathing.

Guatemala – A military chopper crashed on its way to the site of a civilian helicopter wreck. Officials say all 10-people on the Air Force aircraft were killed. Officials say rough weather is to blame.

China – A woman says she swallowed a thermometer when she was 12-years-old and now at 44-years later it's finally causing her some discomfort. Somehow the thermometer wound up in one of her lungs. She says her family couldn't afford to go to a hospital back then. Today doctors are trying to figure out how to remove it

France – On a campaign stop President Nicolas Sarkozy was greeted by hundreds of angry protesters who booed and heckled him. The large crowds forced him to seek refuge in a nearby café and riot police were sent out to protect him.

New Zealand – Scientists say they've reconstructed the fossilized skeleton of a giant penguin.

They say the animal once stood nearly at 4-feet, 2-inches. That’s about a foot taller than the largest modern penguin.
