AROUND THE WORLD (FOX44) – Pakistan, the plane from Karachi went down in brutal weather as it tried to land in Islamabad. It was operated by Pakistan’s Bhoja Airan Airlines that just started flying again after going bankrupt 10-years ago. In fact this was its maiden voyage between the 2-cities.

Japan – Two zookeepers are dead after being mauled by escaped bears. At least six of the animals climbed over the concrete walls of their enclosure. They ran to the woods before local hunters tracked them down.

Mexico – A volcano continues to spew smoke and ash over a half mile high into the sky. It started erupting yesterday. An estimated 50-thousand people live near this volcano but so far no evacuations have been ordered.

Slovenia and Austria – Both countries are gearing up for a battle to claim a type of spicy pork sausage as their own. The delicacy has been enjoyed for centuries in the two neighboring nations. Slovenia wants to have exclusive rights to the sausage and Austria says no way.

Denmark – A professor who made a robot of himself is on “Time Magazine's” list of the one-hundred most influential people in the world. Henrik Scharfe joined Americans, President Barack Obama, and Jeremy Lin on the magazine’s list.
