AROUND THE WORLD (FOX44) – Syria, gunmen reportedly stormed the headquarters of a pro-government Syrian TV news channel today. Reports are saying the gunmen planted explosives in the compound and killed 3-employees. Syrian state TV also said the attackers ransacked their studios and offices. The channel resumed broadcasting shortly after the attack. NBC news cannot independently verify the claims.
Mexico – A 2-year-old boy is recovering after surgery to remove a giant tumor that made up more than half of his body weight. Jesus Gabriel’s back to his normal weight of about 26-pounds. But just a few weeks ago he weighed 60-pounds. He was born with a benign tumor on the right side of his body. It was removed by a team of surgeons last week. Little Jesus is expected to make a full recovery.
Argentina – A ground-breaking discovery here, that's causing quite a roar. Scientists are revealing a new dinosaur species. Officials have named the prehistoric animal “Bicentenaria Argentina”. Experts say the dinosaur is related to the giant T-rex, the smaller Velociraptor and also linked to modern day birds. The bones are about 90-million years old.
England – Just 1-month to go to the start of the summer games in London. And that means the race is on to complete all the temporary venues. Today, giant Olympic rings were unveiled and lowered into position on Tower Bridge, one of the city's most recognizable landmarks.
