AROUND THE WORLD (FOX44) – Syria, an opposition group says a video, shot today from inside a school shows loyalist gunmen right outside, standing over dead men with students inside screaming in shock. Some distance from the school, Syrians appear to be running down a street, trying to flee more gunfire. The escalating violence forced the U.S. to close its embassy here.
Pakistan – A 65-year-old woman was pulled out of the rubble of a collapsed building alive, 31-hours later. The 3-story factory collapsed on Monday after a gas explosion killing 18-people. A few dozen are still missing.
Ukraine – Eight-four pounds of cocaine was found tucked inside pineapples.
Customs police made the find at a shipping port thanks to x-ray equipment. They say the drugs were from Costa Rica and are worth about seven and a half million dollars.
Mexico – Animal rights activists demonstrate against bullfighting. They want lawmakers to ban it in Mexico City. The protesters stripped down to their underwear and covered themselves in mock blood.
Germany – Traffic on the autobahn came to a crawl today after hundreds of packages of sauerkraut spilled after a truck carrying it got into an accident. The highway had to be shut down for hours because temps are freezing. The pickled cabbage froze when it hit the road and crews had to scrape it up.
