BATON ROUGE,LA (FOX44) — The LSU Alabama battle in Death Valley is five days away. Thousands of Bama and Tiger fans plan to pack the capitol city for the game, and that mean's area business's will see a big boost.
Reggie's general manager Bowdion Atchison has lots to do before the crowds of Crimson Tide and Tiger fans fill up Tigerland.
"For one we have to order a lot more drinks," said Atchison. "We have a tent as well to hold all the people we expect to come in town."
Atchison says he expects to see over thousand people come out on game day but the party doesn't start on Saturday.
"Party starts Thursday and goes all night until we close Saturday," said Atchison.
Paul Arrigo with Visit Baton Rouge says the Alabama game draws huge crowds, and they spend come ready to spend.
"I compare this to Bayou Country Superfest where we've got just about our capacity filled up in hotels and restaurants," said Arrigo. "It's going to be a tremendous weekend for Baton Rouge, and God wiling we get a win."
Arrigo says over 40 thousand visitors will be in Baton Rouge this weekend.
"All the hotels are practically filled right now not only in Baton Rouge but around the entire area," said Arrigo. "We are looking at over $2 million in hotel revenue alone."
Arrigo says if area business and their customers show a little southern hospitality we could see a lot of return visitors.
"Tiger bait is fine," said Arrigo. "Just be nice."
Atchison says the two teams may not agree on football, but come game day they share a common goal have fun.
"Like anybody they are all looking for a good time, looking for good drink specials, and just a place they can watch the game," said Atchison. "A lot of people don't have tickets, but they are still coming in town. They want a good place they can watch the game."
