Several banks and law enforcement agencies have reported the following scam in surrounding areas.

Bank customers reportedly received a text over the past week stating that their debit card had been locked. The text said they should call 337-552-2049 to unblock the debit card.

A computerized voice instructs the account holder via telephone that their account has been blocked. The voice then directs the potential victim to start by entering their 16-digit account number to unlock their account.

This is a scam and giving your account number will give the scammer access to your account.
