BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — While many are still soaking in Christmas day, December 25th is another special milestone for Tina Bonanno. "[I'm] 100. They say I don't look my age...Do I?" she laughed.
But don't let the number fool you. Tina cooks, cleans, and works in the garden--all while living on her own.
When she's not doing that, this "sassy senior" makes a little time to watch her favorite reality TV show.
"You know new jersey? the housewives? That's what I watch a lot. It's a good clean show," she laughed. "It's not bad and murders and all."
But Bonanno has seen a lot within the past 100 years. In fact, she was featured as one of LSU's oldest fans back in 2009. "I watch all the games, the LSU games; I get all excited." She was there when Heisman Trophy winner Billy Cannon made his big run more than 50 years ago.
But we had to ask, what's the secret to staying so young? "Keep moving," she said. "Stay busy. I don't eat junk food." Throughout the laughter and stories about her youth, her 14 grandchildren, 26 great grands, and 6 great great grandkids say she's truly a treasure.
"It's always been about love, cooking, and family," said her grandson, Clark East. "She's just been a part of our lives. She's touched us and we hope that continued touch will continue on with our kids."
"My granchildren come around like you see them right now. I'm happy," she added.
She laughed with her grandchildren, saying "Haven't I been a good grandmother?" They all replied with an "I love you."
Her family is throwing a big birthday bash this weekend. She told us she's wearing a champagne colored dress with the shoes to match.
