Bride dressed in pink to honor dad at Spanish Town wedding
BATON ROUGE,LA(FOX44) — Kendra and James Lee Froemming aren't your ordinary bride and groom.
"Everything," Kendra Froemming, new bride, explained. "Everything had to be pink and black and sparkly. We have lived in pink and feathers and sparkles for six months now."
Her groom, James Lee agreed, "The only reason why we're wearing black is because the d.j. didn't want to wear pink."
The fun loving couple tied the knot on Saturday on Kendra's mother's front porch in Downtown Baton Rouge. The theme of the event a Spanish Town wedding.
"It's a celebration. I try to be happy and it reflects our personality. We love to laugh we love to have a good time this encompassed it all," Kendra Froemming said.
The Bride is Baton Rouge native. Her friends and family were all for the pink and flamingo filled ceremony.
"All my friends here grew up in Baton Rouge," The bride laughed. "They get it. They love it. It was wonderful. "
However, James Lee's family and out of town guests needed a little pep talk before the party.
James Lee told party goers: "Just keep an open mind anything could happen. It's going to be fun. Enjoy yourselves, and if something bothers you than go inside."
But there was another reason for getting married on parade day.
Kendra's father was a former Spanish Town grand marshal, according to the bride: "It was really special. It was like having him here even though he's passed away. He's part of it. He's with me."
The bride honored her father by displaying a photo, and after the ceremony doing what her father loved best: enjoying life and partying at the parade.
The groom wouldn't have it any other way.
"I love her, and I'm going to be with her forever," James Lee told Kendra.
