BRPD hosts 'The Equalizer' self-defense class for women
BATON ROUGE, LA — The Baton Rouge Police Department will be hosting "The Equalizer," a free self-defense class for women. The sixteen-hour class will be offered in four parts on the following nights; April 23, 25, 30, and May 2. Classes will be held at the Police Academy gym, 704 Mayflower, starting each night at 6:00 p.m. and ending around 10:00 p.m.
Participants must be at least 13-years old with no current injuries. This class involves hands-on, physical training. Attendance at the first session is mandatory in order to be eligible to attend subsequent sessions.
There is no cost to participate but registration is required. If a student would like to purchase an Equalizer manual the cost is $20.00. Anyone interested in attending should contact the Training Academy at (225) 389-3886.
