HOUMA, LA (FOX44) — A road in Houma is closed because a cement truck lost control and crashed into bayou Terrebonne.

The Houma Police Department reports that the crash happened shortly after11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16. We’re told the driver of the cement truck, Deree D. Kendrick, 25, was driving at a high rate of speed near the intersection of Main and New Orleans Blvd. Officials tell us he attempted to make a left turn but lost control and crossed the bridge fence.

The cement truck contained 9 yards of concrete, which makes the estimated weight of the truck and its contents 70,000 lbs.
