BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Progress on the new rotunda and check-in area is back on track at the Baton Rouge Metro Airport.
Officials say they ran into some delays because of a flooring issue.
The new rotunda will feature an extra TSA line to help speed up going through security. Crews are also expanding the airport entryway, so guests without tickets have more space to pick up their loved ones.
"If soldiers are coming back and they have a group of people meeting them, there is really no area for them to gather,” stated Jim Caldwell with the BTR. “We will create an area with a spacious for seating new restrooms and vending there.”
Airport officials hope to have construction complete by November 2013.
