A 19-year-old man has been arrested for the death of a man whose body was found near a BREC park roughly two weeks ago.

The Baton Rouge Police Department arrested Mrcarl Coleman for the shooting death of Dwayne Foster, 48. He is charged with Second-Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Weapon.

Foster’s body was found on Friday, Sept. 6 at roughly 7:30 a.m. He was only a few feet away from the BREC Spanish Town Park.

An autopsy revealed that Foster died from a gunshot wound to his upper body.

“Additional information was received and investigators had enough probable cause to make the arrest,” Cpl. Don Coppola, Baton Rouge Police Department, explained. “Due to the status of the investigation we’re not able to reveal any further information regarding his possible motive.”

The Baton Rouge Police Department has investigated 47 homicides this year. Of those, they have 31 cleared cases.
