2 BR shootings injure 3 people, including 5-year-old girl
BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — Three people, including a child, are in the hospital after two separate shootings in Baton Rouge.
Ljean Mckneely, a police spokesperson, says the first shooting happened around 6:54 p.m. on August 28, 2014, in the 700 block of North 22nd Street.
The first victim was shot in the leg, and was transported to Baton Rouge General with non-life threatening injuries.
Witness told police, the gunman fired six to eight shots.
A 32-year-old man and a 5-year-old girl were shot around 9:52 p.m. in the 12000 block of Old Hammond Highway.
The man was shot three times and the girl was shot once in the hip. They were both transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Mckneely says the second shooting happened after someone knocked on the man’s door and started shooting when he answered.
Police are still investigating both shootings.
