The man accused of attacking and kidnapping a woman from a hotel in New Orleans has turned himself in to police.

Elvin Terrell, 35, was booked into the Orleans Parish Prison on Sunday, Aug. 18. He is charged with one count of Domestic Second-Degree Battery, one count of Domestic Kidnapping, Child Desertion, Child Endangering, and Cruelty to a Juvenile. His bond was set at $250,000.

Terrell is accused of attacking a woman in the lobby of a hotel at roughly 5:00 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 18. Surveillance cameras captured the entire incident, including his escape with the unconscious woman.

A second woman is seen in the video and she appears to plead with the man to stop what he’s doing. She is seen taking a picture of the license plate of the man’s car.

Officials have not released any information regarding the identities of the females in the video.

Additionally, police are working to understand how a 6-year-old boy is connected to this case. The child was found alone in a hotel room that had been rented to one of the individuals involved in this case.

A woman claiming to be the child’s mother spoke to detectives on the phone. However, they say they’ve been unable to confirm that because the woman refuses to cooperate with police.

The child was unharmed and was placed into protective custody.
