50-year-old man charged with murder being held on $250,000 bond
CROWLEY, LA (FOX44) — A 50-year-old man was arrested last night for allegedly shooting and killing a man during an argument.
The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the shooting happened on Monday, July 22 shortly before 7:00 p.m. When deputies arrived at the home on Conrad Road in Crowley, they found the victim, Edgar Eugene Belveal, 32, suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
Investigators learned that Belveal had driven to the home of Henry Lawrence Leger to have a discussion. The conversation got heated, and for undisclosed reasons, Leger allegedly shot and killed the victim.
Leger was arrested and charged with Second-Degree Murder. He was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on a bond of $250,000.
