BATON ROUGE, LA (FOX44) — The number of arrests made by East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s detectives in connection with the Ridge Pecan shooting is now at six.
Demarcus James, 20, of Prairieville, was taken into custody for First Degree Murder on Thursday evening.
Reports say James arrived at a hospital in a nearby parish shortly after the shooting. He arrived there with multiple gunshot wounds.
According to Hargrove, who was previously arrested for this shooting, he and James went to Ridge Pecan to purchase drugs.
Hargrove said James was inside negotiating when Hargrove heard multiple shots coming from inside the residence.
James allegedly emerged from the apartment moments later with a pistol and several gunshot wounds. James fled the scene before police arrived.
The three other suspects were arrested the morning of Friday, Dec. 13.
Avery Honea, 17, of Prairieville, was charged with Principal to First Degree Murder and Attempted First Degree Murder.
Ivan Graham, 19, of Gonzales, and Bryton Montelaro,18, of Gonzales, were both charged with Principal to First Degree Murder.
Honea, Graham, Montelaro, Hargrove and James reportedly went to the apartment with the sole purpose of stealing money and drugs from Vincent.
Graham and Montelaro are said to have stayed in the vehicle while Hargrove and Honea waited outside the apartment. James allegedly went inside.
The five men fled the scene together before detectives arrived.
