Acquaintance accused of raping woman while she was intoxicated

A 24-year-old man is accused of breaking into the home of an acquaintance he knew to be intoxicated, then allegedly raped her.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office reports that the incident happened on Saturday, Dec. 15. We’re told the suspect, Bryan Dehart, 24, of Gray, went out that night with a group of friends in the Thibodaux area. At the end of the evening he dropped the 21-year-old female victim off at her home, then left.

After an unknown period of time, Dehart allegedly returned to the home of the victim and entered without permission. The victim was in her bedroom, where she says he forced her to have intercourse.

Dehart was arrested on Thursday, Dec. 20 and charged with one count of Unauthorized Entry into an Inhabited Dwelling and one Count Simple Rape.
