Gonzales Patrol Officers were dispatched to Hampton Inn located on W Outfitter Dr. in reference to a domestic disturbance in progress. They say it happened around 5:00 p.m. Saturday night.

After Officers arrival they met with an upset female in the lobby identified as Ebony Bailey and learned from her that a fight had broke out at her 7-year-old daughter's birthday party between her two children's fathers. Bailey then identified Alden Warner as one that was fighting with her current boyfriend by the name of Louis Talbert, 49 , from Spring, Tx .

Officers detained Alden Warner, 33 of Baton Rouge, in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn and proceeded to Room #306, where the party was taking place and found Talbert lying on the floor suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigating Detectives say the shooting stemmed from a comment made by Warner to Bailey in the presence of Talbert that caused Talbert to strike Warner several times. Warner then pulled a pistol and shot Talbert one time, while the room was occupied by young children attending the birthday party. He then left the room until he was detained by officers.

None of the children, ranging in ages between 2 to 8, attending the party were seriously harmed and have been released back to their appropriate guardians.

Alden Warner has been booked and processed on one count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon and one count of Manslaughter.
