BAKER, LA (FOX44) — Two buildings located at an elementary school in Baker were set on fire last night. Investigators are currently seeking the arsonist responsible.
The Baker Fire Department was called to Bakerfield Elementary School on Sunday, July 1 at roughly 8:00 p.m. When they arrived they found a metal storage building fully engulfed in flames.
Firefighters soon noticed smoke coming from another wood frame building located across the playground near the school.
After both fires were extinguished, investigators began seeking out the source of the flames. They believe the fires were intentionally set.
The total damaged caused is estimated at roughly $80,000.
So far a suspect has not been identified in this case.
