ASCENSION PARISH, LA — Three Gonzales men have been arrested for intenting to sell marijuana.
In January, the Ascenion Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division began an investigation of Ezikeo Freeman selling marijuana from his residence in the 9000 block of Mark Pierce Road in Gonzales.
During the course of the investigation, narcotics detectives obtained evidence that Ezikeo Freeman was in fact selling marijuana from his residence. Narcotics detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Ezikeo Freeman and a search warrant for his residence.
On February 6, narcotics detectives executed the search warrant and Brandon Boudreaux attempted to leave the residence in a vehicle. Boudreaux was ordered to stop and he refused and led detectives on a short vehicle pursuit.
Boudreaux abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot carrying a book sack. Narcotics detectives chased Boudreaux down and ordered him several times to get on the ground and to stop resisting. Boudreaux refused to comply and a narcotics detective deployed his taser on Boudreaux. The book sack Brandon Boudreaux was carrying contained a loaded 9mm pistol and approximately one and a half pounds of marijuana.
During the search of the residence, detectives located and seized a quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Narcotics detectives also arrested Troy Freeman at the residence after detectives’ located marijuana and a scale in his vehicle. Ezikeo Freeman was not at home at the time of the search but later turned himself into narcotics detectives.
Troy Freeman, 24, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brandon Boudreaux, 30, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, illegal carrying of weapons, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting an officer.
Ezikeo Freeman, 35, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, distribution of marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The three suspects are incarcerated at the Ascension Parish Jail awaiting bond.
