A 46-year-old man was arrested for the rape of his girlfriend’s daughter. Officials say the man has been in a relationship with the woman for the past 13 years and the teen referees to him as “step daddy.”

The Baker Police Department reports that Rodrick Oneal Taylor turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday, July 17 shortly before 9:00 p.m. An active warrant had been issued for his arrest.

The victim, who is now 20 years old, contacted police on June 23, 2013. She told detectives that her step-father had raped her during her teen years.

The victim told police that she would barricade her bedroom door at night by placing a plastic storage container filled with clothes by the door. She said she did so to prevent Taylor from entering the room after her mother had gone to sleep.

According to the police report, the victim told her mother about the first instance when the sexual abuse occurred. The victim claims that her mother did not believe her, but said she should tell her if it happens again. When questioned by an officer, the victim’s mother denied being told about the sexual abuse.

The victim claims the first instance happened in 2009, the second in 2010 and the final incident was in April 2013.

Taylor was questioned by an officer on July 12. He denied the allegations of sexual abuse. However, he did admit to entering her bedroom to talk to the teen.

Taylor was arrested and charged with two counts of Forcible Rape and one count of Molestation of a Juvenile. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
