
LAFAYETTE PARISH, LA (FOX44) — A suspect in a Baton Rouge murder has been taken into custody in Lafayette. Thirty-year old Ruben van Dyke was arrested shortly after nine this morning by the Lafayette Sheriff’s Office while walking along the 6500 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway. Van Dyke is a suspect in the murder of 32 year old Brannon Counts. Counts was killed on Friday on Hollywood street around five p.m. Van Dyke is scheduled to be transferred to the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He faces first degree murder, attempted first degree murder and illegal use of a dangerous weapon charges.
