Baton Rouge woman arrested for attempted murder of her husband

A 22-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly tried to kill her husband.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the incident happened on September 15, 2013. The victim told officers he had recently separated from his wife, Shaquayla Hickman, due to her “violent nature.”

The victim explained that he was involved in an argument with his wife. She then got into her vehicle and attempted to run him over. He managed to get away, but she allegedly followed him and fired a gun at him.

Shaquayla Hickman fled the scene prior to police arrival. A warrant was issued for her arrest. On Thursday, Oct. 17, she was located and arrested. She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Weapon. Her bond was set at $60,000.
